April 24, 2013 - Mugello Circuit : the first European System that includes the environmental certification EMAS, studied by 50 American University students
A group of 50 American students of the Colleges of Business and Communication from Kent State University, George Washington University and Boston College – in collaboration with the association FAIR, committed to promoting sustainability and excellencies of the Made in Italy abroad – will visit the Mugello Circuit as the first example of EMAS registration at European level, having already obtained the ISO 14001 certification.
Wednesday, April 24, students will have the opportunity to participate in special seminars, confront the managers responsible for these issues and visit the Ferrari structure.
“Having activated an Environmental Management System, explains CEO Paolo Poli circuit, is not just about the environment and land protection, but it is also an incentive to acquire a specific sense of social responsibility by all actors in the field: managers, employees, suppliers and users of the system. EMAS registration and ISO 14001 certification demonstrates, in fact, that it is possible to make a high-quality Motor Sport activity in an area that has its value added in the environment, in full respect of the procedures for environmental protection. We are pleased that this may constitute a best practice for a significant group of American students present in Florence. ”
“FAIR – Florentine Association of International Relations – aims to promote cultural relations between countries by investing in communication and research on know-how and quality in the field of sustainability and to promote it in the first place to future leaders”, explains Marco Tortora, co-founder of the association. The Autodromo del Mugello is an Italian excellence and for this reason we have included it to study and discussion it within the program Amerigo2013 that we organize in order to strengthen cultural relations between Italy and the USA, especially focusing on young foreign students in Italy”.
The event will have the support of Kent State University Florence Program and its EU Business Program.
