Sports&Sustainability: Workshop The Soccer Museum Experience

FAIR in partnership with the Artemio Franchi Foundation and the Museo del Calcio Foundation will present to a selected group of Italian (University of Florence) and foreign (Erasmus and American) University students their project to make the Museo del Calcio (Soccer Museum) and Florence a center for Sport, Responsibility and Social Change. Students will have the opportunity to discuss with the founder of the Museum - Dr Fino Fini, and the representatives of FAIR: the history and role of the Museum in Florence, the social role of soccer - the most popular sport in Italy, and its future development.
Goal

  • To introduce Italian and foreign students in Florence the excellence of the Italian Sports Culture and System through a unique experience
  • To educate students and young people to responsibility and social change through sports
  • To promote Florence as center of excellence for sports and social change
  • A special focus on the nexus between sports and tourism for local sustainable development

Museo del Calcio / Soccer MuseumEstablished in 1995, the Soccer Museum Foundation aims to be a center of historical documentation of the game of football, as an expression of cultural and sports heritage created by the FIGC, and the organizations affiliated to it. The museum opened in May 2000.
